Ariel you realy have an eye for the simple but still very interesting details, and then giving us a little story that tells why you have choosen to make this picture, although I think the nail doesn't feel free but is rather stuck in the surroundings.
After all a great photo wit nice detail and colours that make it worthwile viewing and thinking.

No commitment could also be explained as avoiding responsibility. As nothing is alone, even the nail is useless without the wood. Thanks for sharing, excellent picture, Ariel

I like the name you chose for your picture! I like the details in the wood grain. Nice dof, you have a nice focus on the nail. Did you find a macro? Michelle

Nicely done, great tittle and as for the photo, well it's really nice. Great detail in the wood, techs are all well done, I do find the nail a tad dark and maybe a tad soft but I'll blame it on my computer screen at work. Again, well done, nice and simple but yet very well framed.

I like your simple composition here, the color of the wood the rust on the nail...I find the strange outline of the nail a little distracting, almost like maybe it was zoomed in too much..I am having a hard time explaining...cool shot though

Your point is well taken but I do like Anne-Marie's review and viewpoint. Without the wood, the nail has no foundation and performs no function. The wood is less effective without being joined with it's neighbor by the nail. The key is to find the right connection where two items work with each other. This is a very introspective of a photo. You once said you like my shots because of the simple view I take. Hmmm. Good detail, great dof, you have mastered dof with your 70mm lense. - Scooter -

Except that this "single" is stuck, and can't go anywhere :) LOL LOL - very nicely done Ariel! The colors here are very true to life, and so is the texture. You have done a great job capturing something so simple, in such detail and care...very well done :) Adva

They say subject in center is a NO, but symmetry showing both sides demonstrate that there are no other nails in the area. The rust has been there, but the head is rust free. It can still be pounded or pulled, possibly a turning point of decision :) LC
