A Sunset at Mentakab

With my 3rd uncle's companion I took this picture on a cross-over bridge.

During the last trip back to Malaysia, I had a chance spending 3days at a place (where my 3rd & 5th uncles stayed with their family) named Mentakab, it's a town located in Pahang, Malaysia.

Focal Length : 70mm
Shutter Speed : 0.010s(1/100)
Exposure : f/4.5
ISO : 125

Nice shot of the sunset. You are just a great photographer.

Thanks, it was the ray which caught my eyes. But some told me they found the building tadly distracting. I did try to crop it off. But the out doesn't please the eyes. Therefore I kept it as it be. Maybe there's another chance, I should try to slow down the shutter speed, but I will remember to bring the tripod. Slower shutter speed would help to darken the foreground, & tripod will to steady the capture. *winks*

Sorry, I meant the outcome! ^__^ -- the outcome doesn't please the eyes.

beautiful sunset, I like how the rays look orangish thru the clouds, I am thinking maybe if the building was not there and just the veiw of the trees, the whiteness of the building distracts just a bit, all in all good work thank you for sharing

He Ariel, beautiful sunset. As you are focusing on that sunset, maybe you could have cropped 20% from the bottom and make the rest of the bottom dark. I agree with Gina on this that it distracts from that beautiful sky. Thanks for sharing Ariel! Anne-marie

Hey Ariel--another great photo! Good looking sunset--I especially like the sun rays beaming out from behind the clouds. I might have tried to underexpose the foregound a bit more--taking it to black to further enhanse the color in the sunset. Great shot! Thank you! Randy

Ariel, this is a nice display. I think your crop was a very wise choice. I would have considered slowing the shutter speed on this to let the light blast a bit more. Of course, that will diminish the f/g, but the spectacular light display would really glow with richness. Good shot. - Scooter -

Ariel, this is a wonderful sunset. I have to agree with the fg, it is somewhat distracting. However, I think the sunset makes up for it, and I understand that you sometimes have to work with what you have, so I am giving you 5 stars for the beautiful colors. Charlene

Nice detailed shot ariel, colors and neat, and the rays coming thru the clouds and nice to see. When the stuff below the horizon is dark, you could turn up the contrast, which will bring out the rays more, and darken the stuff below the horizon, which will in turn create a profile shot of the trees :)croc
