Gentle Purple

This is my 3rd posting with effects of editing software. So, what do you reckon? Pls kindly tell me how you like or dislike about it. TQ! ^__^

Focal Length : 70mm
Shutter Speed : 0.002s(1/640)
Exposure : f/4.5
ISO : 200

Touch up :
1. Cropped closely with Picasa2(due to the tricky angle restricted & there're some defects at the surface. So I decided to try a real closely crop to see the results)
2. Sharpen once with Picasa2(To make the subject more appealing.)

Hi Ariel,
Very nice photograph of gentle purple. All the technical stuff is perfect. It is very nice how the flowere is very sharp but the background is completely out of focus. What kind of flower is this and is it typical of your area?

Nice orchid, cropping down to the center good, having the petals have a triangle space good, I prefer the no shadow, but then I don't like moving my subjects around, I like the way I found them and gives a more realistic view. Great compostion and use of a macro lens. croc

Lovely details and strong colors. Is this in macro or tele? Great DOF to isolate the petals. If you have the chance, take the bottom petal and center it on the bottom since that petal is different from the rest, just another perspective for symmetry. Jon

Ariel this is a very pretty flower, you composition is excellent. Love the colors. I find it hard to get good dof with a marco on a flower like this. Is this a macro lens or did you just focus in close?

I like the color and subject macro takes practice. its trial and error. I cant wait till spring and the bulbs then the roses come to life. try different lenses and angles. Lighting makes a big difference I like early in the day.

Gentle purple, nice title for a beautiful flower. All the techs are there. The petals seem to have a fuzzy texture to them, are they? (I don't mean fuzzy focus Lol) Great detail. I would have loved to see more of the flower. I guess this is another one of those, when is it appropriate to crop tight like this and when is it not? Dianne

I think you did a great job on this beautiful flower! The color is striking and the fuzz on the petals looks very soft. You captured the heart very good .Well done! *__^ annemarie

Great photo yet again but I have to say, I like the other one better, all your techs are great here and you have a great photo but I like the full flower better, the shadows here are my reason behind liking the other one better, great texture on this one

I like this photo good composition with the (i don't know what it's called) fuzzy part of the petal going down to the lower right gives it a use of thirds, i enjoy how th eey is first drawn to the center then led out the petals and around the photograph, besides make me want to go enjoy spring!!

What I like about this photo is that I can see the texture of the petals adn all the details of the colors. I can also tell that your focus is right on the center. Michelle
